The facility has been restored under the national project "Comprehensive Plan for Modernization and Expansion of Backbone Infrastructure".
The artificial runway was put into operation in 2021. Taxiways and aprons were also reconstructed, a drainage and drainage system was arranged, and a system of lighting and signaling equipment was equipped. In addition, a new service and passenger building, a fuel and lubricants warehouse, perimeter fences and a patrol road were built. More than 9 billion rubles were allocated from the federal budget.
On November 27, the Lensk Department of Rostekhnadzor issued a conclusion on the compliance of the capital construction facility with the requirements of the design documentation. In the next few days, a permit to put the airport into operation will be obtained. There is also work to be done on commissioning of equipment, training and recruitment of personnel.
Yakutia is the leader in the number of regional airports being modernized under the National Project. A total of 15 airports of the republic were included in the comprehensive plan of modernization and expansion of the main infrastructure.
Neryungri is the tenth airport reconstructed under the National Project. By the end of this year it is planned to complete the reconstruction of Ust-Nera airport.
